The final 2006 endorsements have been released and the North Country's Working Families Team is ready to sweep the fall elections! It is a strong team of progressive pioneers stepping up to take our country back for the people!
Vote Row E for Elliot!
Elliot Spitzer for New York Governor
If we are to reverse our state’s decline, we must first reform our state government to make it more accountable and more responsive to people’s needs. We must renew people’s faith in government by making sure our tax money is spent wisely, efficiently and where it is needed most.
Hillary Clinton for U.S. Senate
I am very proud that Democrats are standing up for the idea of linking a Congressional pay raise to increasing the minimum wage, and I urge Republicans to join us, and I urge people around our country to make their voices heard on this.
Bob Johnson for U.S. Congress (NY-23)
We are on the right side of the issues - whether it's healthcare for every single American, stewardship of our environment, a sound energy policy, our commitment to both K-12 and higher education, meaningful job creation or changing the course in Iraq. Good government is not the enemy. Those in power today openly detest government and have created incompetent, inept government. We need to bring back integrity and competence to public life.
Tim Merrick for State Senate (SD-45)
Big business and the wealthy have been given protection and tax relief and the burden of funding this increasingly expensive country has fallen to middle and working class Americans. This must change. Taxes must be equitable for all, without loopholes for the wealthy. Large businesses must step up to a level of community accountability in living wages, environmental stewardship and equal rights.
Andy Brockway for State Assembly (AD-114)
I don't believe it falls under the auspices of government to regulate personal lives of our citizens. Education has been left without adequate funding for years and I believe in order to retain our status as a global player, we need to start increasing funding allocated to elementary and secondary education. I believe it is the responsibility of the government to eliminate long-standing debt and the current trend of securing loans from foreign nations.
On this July 4 weekend show your true patriot colors and donate to the progressive pioneer of your choice from the North Country Working Families Party. The campaigns of Bob Johnson, Tim Merrick, and Andy Brockway especially need your donations as they are facing tough election fights, but working together, WE WILL WIN!
